Following the destructive wildfires in Southeast Australia in the summer of 2019-2020, Gumea-Dharrawal and Dharumba Dhurga, Yuin knowledge holder Joel Deaves reflects on the health of Country at a significant place where the edge of land culturally burned in 2018, met the heat of the wildfires 18 months later.

Looking at the Country here today you can see there’s all grass just here and on the other side it’s all bare and all the soil is just exposed and there’s no coverage on the ground.”
